    Preaching With Precision & Power

    We live in a day in which there is a famine in the land for the hearing of God's Word. In response to this spiritual drought, the ministries of OnePassion and Ligonier are devoted to calling those who stand in pulpits to the high standard of biblical preaching. If we are to see a new reformation in this day, there must first be a reformation of the pulpit. Only then can the church experience transcendent worship, authentic godliness, and true evangelism.

    The goal of this event is to equip and energize a new generation of biblical expositors. This is a concentrated training opportunity to be instructed in biblical exposition and preaching. Pastors, bible teachers, and church leaders are all welcome to attend and be a part of this exciting event.  May the Lord use this to extend the proclamation of His Word!

    In this course titled "Preaching With Precision & Power," Dr. Lawson will explore the mandate, meaning, marks, models, mechanics, and motivation of expository preaching.  This event is designed for men who are serving in or considering various church leadership and pastoral roles. However, pastors' wives and those who teach in women's ministry occasionally attend.

    Immediately following The Institute for Expository Preaching, the Ridgecrest Convention Center will also be hosting the National Center for Family-Integrated Churches’ annual conference where Dr. Steven Lawson will be a main speaker.  This 3-day conference titled the “The Glory of Jesus Christ” will begin Thursday, October 25 and end Saturday, October 27.

    Dr. Steven J. Lawson

    Dr. Steven J. Lawson is founder and president of OnePassion Ministries, a ministry designed to equip and energize a new generation of Bible expositors. The focus of Dr. Lawson’s ministry is the verse-by-verse exposition of God’s Word. He is the author of more than twenty books, including Pillars of Grace: A Long Line of Godly Men - Volume Two, The Unwavering Resolve of Jonathan Edwards, The Expository Genius of John Calvin, and Foundations of Grace: A Long Line of Godly Men - Volume One.

    Dr. Lawson is a Teaching Fellow with Ligonier Ministries, Professor of Preaching and Dean of the Doctor of Ministry program at The Master’s Seminary, and Executive Editor for Expositor Magazine. He is also on the board of The Master’s University and Seminary, Ligonier Ministries, and Reformation Bible College. Dr. Lawson is a graduate of Texas Tech University (B.B.A.), Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M.), and Reformed Theological Seminary (D. Min.), has served as a pastor in Arkansas and Alabama for thirty-four years, and presently lives in Dallas, Texas. Steve and his wife Anne have three sons and a daughter.
