Scripture makes it clear that parents are primarily responsible for the discipleship of their children. At the National Center for Family-Integrated Churches, one of our missions is to communicate God’s beautiful design for discipleship in the home and in the church. In the following resources, you will find biblical solutions to the problems that exist in modern church and family discipleship.
Yet, I would like to offer a word of caution, In responding to concerns about their local churches' age-segregated youth and adult programs, some parents may overreact and become disconnected or even divisive in their local churches. They may even abandon the local church altogether. These ungodly responses only add more sin and confusion. The Church is the bride and the body of Christ. This means that faithfulness and involvement in a local church is an integral part of walking with Christ. This is why one aspect of our mission at the NCFIC is to use scripture to show God's wonderful design for building harmony between churches and families, not dislocation.
Our prayer is that the resources you find here will point you to scripture to discover a rich and fruitful pattern of church and family life that is defined by love, faithfulness, obedience, and unity. After many decades of innovation and creativity in our church programs, it is time to return to scripture and fulfill God’s design for discipleship.
