Overview
Each year the NCFIC convenes gatherings of church leaders in various parts of the US. They bring men together for fellowship, teaching, prayer and singing for one purpose, “to take heed,” and to continue to cry out to God for awakening. As the shepherds go, so goes the church. Therefore, it is critical that we hold to Paul’s admonition to Timothy, “take heed to yourself and your doctrine,” 1 Timothy 4:16.
This meeting will begin at 3:00 pm and conclude at 5:00 pm with dinner to follow.
Who is invited? Pastors, church officers, men training for ministry, students and missionaries. Registration is $10. Snacks, drinks, dinner, and resources will be provided.
Following the Church Leaders meeting, you are invited to attend the 2019 Men’s Advance: Building Community Saturday, May 4th Hosted by Covenant Family Church (OPC) at the facilities of St. Stephen UMC, 101 St. Stephen Ln, Troy, MO 63379. Click here for more information.

Speakers
Scott T. Brown is the president of Church and Family Life and pastor at Hope Baptist Church in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Scott graduated from California State University in Fullerton with a degree in History and received a Master of Divinity degree from Talbot School of Theology. He gives most of his time to local pastoral ministry, expository preaching, conferences on church and family reformation. Scott helps people think through the two greatest institutions God has provided — the church and the family.
Kirk Smith is the Executive Director for the Illinois Christian Home Educators (ICHE). As such, his consistent message is the emphasis on home discipleship (particularly father-led) and the fear of the Lord as the source of wisdom and knowledge. Prior to his present position, he founded and pastored a church in Albion, Illinois for twenty-five years. He and his wife, Joely, live on a small farm outside Bone Gap with their eleven children.
Peter Bringe has lived most of his life in St. Charles County and is happy to call it home. He also has a long history with our church, having first become a member with his family when he was twelve.
He has a B.A. in Bible and Theology from Whitefield College and a M.Div. from Covenant Theological Seminary. After serving as a pastoral intern and deacon, we voted to call him as our pastor and he was ordained on October 9th, 2018. He is excited to serve his home church and community as a preacher of God’s word and a shepherd of Christ’s flock.
On the side, Peter also enjoys playing folk music, studying and recounting history, and spending time in the outdoors. Peter is married to Melody and they have been blessed thus far with two children.
