Hope for the Family - WA
  • Overview

I have invited a number of men to call us to biblical order regarding family life. There is no more important issue in this matter than the power of the true gospel working in a family.

The problems in family life can almost always be traced to conversion. It is the reason children abandon the church and embrace worldliness. It is the main reason fathers do not obey the Lord’s commands for family life. It is the underlying reason that some families exist in a world of outward conformity and performances, yet are devoid of true affection for Jesus Christ and His kingdom.

We have also invited many experienced pastors to minister to us. These men are Bible expositors. I have labored with these men for many years and I know that they clearly understand how families are to function according to scripture. They also have a keen understanding of how the evangelical world, is drifting away from the plain commands of God for family life. These men are experts in this subject and they know how to accurately handle the Word of God.

The speakers at this conference are well equipped to give your family a refreshing re-calibration from the Word of God alone.

At this conference, I want to inspire you to do two things. First, dissect and reject the worlds wisdom on family life and second, be filled with the Holy Spirit and plunge yourself into every part of the Biblical design for family life. It is the best thing you will ever do. We will be calling out the works of the devil and appeal to you to obey the Word of God. Trust the design. Love the design. Be a real dad and mom the way God designs. Be the children and the singles God desires. Love the Lord with All your heart, soul and strength, and get very clear on what the Bible says about family life. And then obey it out of love, under the power of the Holy Spirit. A consecrated life is the key to family life. But true consecration always comes before obedience and obedience comes before blessing.

At this conference, we are going to expose the chaos of rejecting God’s ways. This world will only give you harmful unworkable thinking and living regarding your family. We plan to explain and debunk the works of the devil and then explain God’s design – which is perfect – which is revealed in His Word.

I want to inspire you to make the biggest investment of your life in the two most important institutions God has established – the church and the family. When you invest your life doing the will of God in your family, you have entered into the most effectual and long-lasting work you will ever do

My desire at this conference is to preach the sufficient Word of God that we might govern our families according to the ways God has commanded.

As you know, this is a preaching conference. We believe that God has appointed preaching as His primary means of changing lives. I fully expect that at this conference you will hear some of the best preaching you will ever hear on these matters.

    Scott Brown

Scott T. Brown is the president of Church and Family Life and pastor at Hope Baptist Church in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Scott graduated from California State University in Fullerton with a degree in History and received a Master of Divinity degree from Talbot School of Theology. He gives most of his time to local pastoral ministry, expository preaching, conferences on church and family reformation. Scott helps people think through the two greatest institutions God has provided — the church and the family.

    David Eddy

David Eddy is the Senior Pastor of Manchester Community Church, located in Washington State overlooking the beautiful Puget Sound. In 1993, he was given the opportunity to pastor at the church where he and his wife Carol had attended from childhood. That same year, they welcomed their first baby into their home. Since that time, they have had the joy and privilege of serving the church and home educating their ten children, who are now ages 7 to 22.

    Scott LaPierre

Scott LaPierre is the senior pastor of Woodland Christian Church in southwest Washington, as well as an author and conference speaker. He and his wife, Katie, grew up together in northern California, and they have been blessed with seven children (and hopefully more) that they homeschool. Scott invests most of his energy in his home and church families, and his free time is usually spent writing. You can learn more at ScottLaPierre.org.

    Cary Green

Cary Green grew up in a loose Catholic home near Lake Tapps, Washington. While attending Western Washington University, he got saved, by the grace of God! Even as a new believer he knew God was calling him to the ministry, so after college he attended The Master’s Seminary in Sun Valley, California. While there, he met his wife, Lois, and a year after graduating, he and his family left for nearly ten years of ministry in East Berlin. During those years they helped to plant a church (Bible Church of Berlin) and establish a Bible school (European Bible Training Center), both of which are still going strong today. The LORD moved the Green family back to the USA in 2009, where Cary again became involved in planting a church–originally called Everett Bible Church, now Cornerstone Bible Church. It is his joy and privilege to pastor this congregation. Cary and Lois have fourteen children.

    Monty Simao

Monty Simao is the pastor of Scandia Bible Church, a Reformed Baptist Church in Poulsbo, Washington. He is also an entrepreneur and co-owner of MAD Custom Coating, a thin-film ceramic application company headquartered in Bremerton, Washington. He has been married for 23 years and has nine children.
