About

[email protected]

On a typical Sunday, we begin at 10:00 am by singing hymns with musical accompaniment. The sermon follows, after which the men have an open discussion of the message as the others listen. We then have a time for prayer, sharing praises and requests that are openly prayed for by the men. We have communion each time we meet. Lastly, we share a meal to which each family contributes. Visitors are not expected to contribute to the meal.

Our following statement of faith, while not divinely inspired, was written and is maintained by the men of Living Faith Christian Church.

The statement of faith is taken seriously.

Statement of Faith

God

We believe that there is one true omniscient, omnipotent god, who alone is truly, totally, uniquely self existent, who alone is truly, totally, sovereign, who is the creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons, who are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26, 1 Thessalonians 1:2-6, I John 5:7)

The Father

We believe in God the Father, whose eternal plans and purposes will ultimately be fulfilled in all things. We believe that the Father, a personable being Who hears the prayers of His children, is both interested and active in the lives of His people, undertaking on behalf of those whom, from eternity past, He has elected to be His children by both adoption as well as new conception. (John 8:18-29, John 17:1-26, Ephesians 1:3-6)

The Son

We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who was brought into the world through the virgin conception and that He lived sinlessly as a human while also being divine. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was crucified and died upon a wooden cross as a substitutionary sacrifice, that He arose from the dead, and ascended into heaven in a glorified body. We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is the Head of the church, instructing the church through His Word. We believe in the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ and that He will return with great power and glory. (Luke 1:26-38, John 1:1-2, 14, Colossians 2:8-9, I Timothy 2:5-6)

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit of God convicts, regenerates, sanctifies, indwells, and instructs. (Romans 8:9, II Corinthians 3:6, Galatians 5:16, Ephesians 1:13)

The Scriptures

We believe that the Bible in its original writings is the divinely inspired Word of God, that it is truth without error, that it is the final authority, and that it is sufficient for all of life. (Psalm 119:105, Matthew 5:18, II Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Peter 1:21)

Creation

We believe that, in the beginning, God created the universe, that He completed the work of creation in six literal days, and that He rested the seventh day. (Genesis 1:1-31, 2:3, Colossians 1:15-17)

Mankind

We believe that Adam and Eve were created in the likeness of God, not evolved from other things. By voluntary transgression, Adam fell into sin, for which reason unregenerate humans are entirely sinful by nature and completely depraved, incapable of doing any good. Therefore, people are conceived under condemnation to eternal separation from God. (Genesis 1:26-27, 6:5, Isaiah 53:6, Romans 3:10-12, 23, 6:23)

Salvation

We believe that the only hope of salvation is the Lord Jesus Christ and that apart from Him there is no salvation. People are saved by grace alone through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, and that only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation be obtained, as evidenced by repentance with faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is a totally free gift from God that cannot be earned in any way nor taken away by any means. (John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Romans 3:24, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5)

The True Church

We believe that the true church is composed of all persons who have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and that these are eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Chief Shepherd, since they are kept by His divine power. (John 10:7-18, Acts 2:47, I Corinthians 12:13, I Peter 2:5)

The Priesthood of All Believers

We believe in the priesthood of all believers and that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Great High Priest and intercessor for the Church. We believe that we have direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ without any other human mediator. God leads each believer through the Holy Spirit and His Word. (Colossians 1:18, I Timothy 2:5, Hebrews 10:19-22, I Peter 2:9, Revelations 1:6)

Ordinances

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ established the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, which are to be observed by the church. Baptism symbolizes the believer's death to the life of sin and his spiritual resurrection to the new life in Christ. Baptism is to be administered by immersion upon public confession of the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The Lord's Supper is to be observed by the redeemed in remembrance of His broken body and shed blood until He returns. Genuine believers are invited to partake of communion, but let them first examine themselves so as to partake of the Lord's Supper worthily. (Luke 22:19-20, Acts 2:41, 8:12, 9:18, 10:47-48, Romans 6:3-6, I Corinthians 11:23-29)

Righteous Living

We believe that true salvation is evidenced by righteous living with good works. Good works are not a means of obtaining salvation, but result from salvation. Good works are the fruit of our walk with the Lord, which God has prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Matthew 7:16, Ephesians 2:10, Titus 2, 1 Peter 1:15-16)

Life After Death

We believe that there will be a resurrection from the dead for both the just and the unjust. The saved will be resurrected unto everlasting life in the new heaven and the new earth with the Lord Jesus Christ. The unsaved will be resurrected unto eternal punishment in hell with Satan, who is a fallen angel. (John 5:28-29, I Thessalonians 4:13, 5:6, II Timothy 4:1, Hebrews 9:27, Revelation 20:5-6, 10-15, 21:1)
